How do I create flashcards?
Tap the + button, then either take a photo of your notes, select an image from your
library, or type/paste your notes directly. Our AI will generate flashcards automatically.
How do I study my cards?
Drag left or right to flip a card and reveal the answer. Swipe up or down to move to the
next card. Pro users can also tap "Quiz" to test themselves with multiple choice or write-in questions.
What's included in the free plan?
Free users get 5 AI generations per month and unlimited manual card creation. The
generation count resets at the start of each month.
What does Pro include?
Pro gives you 50 AI generations per month and access to Quiz mode (multiple choice and
write-in). You can subscribe monthly ($3.99/mo) or yearly ($29.99/yr).
What are generation top-ups?
If you run out of monthly generations, you can buy a pack of 50 extra generations for
$4.99. These bonus credits don't expire at the end of the month — they stay until you use them.
How do I restore my purchases?
Open the upgrade screen and tap "Restore Purchases" at the bottom. This will re-sync your
subscription status with the App Store.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to your iPhone Settings → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → ScanStudy →
Cancel. You'll keep access until the end of your current billing period.
Is my data private?
Yes. Photos are processed on your device. Text is sent to our AI service only for
generation and is not stored. Your flashcards live locally on your device. See our
Privacy Policy for full details.
The app isn't recognizing my handwriting.
Make sure your notes are well-lit and the photo is in focus. Apple's text recognition
works best with clear, dark writing on a light background. Try taking the photo from directly above
rather than at an angle.
